According to the French newspaper L’Equipe, Lionel Messi has reached a point of no return at Paris Saint-Germain.
Messi has been linked with a summer exit from the Parc des Princes, with his current contract expiring at the end of June and no word on a possible extension.
PSG retains the option to extend Messi’s contract by another year, as per their original agreement with the Argentine, but the 35-year-old appears increasingly likely to leave.
Barcelona vice president Rafa Yuste has admitted that the club is working to bring Messi to Catalonia, and PSG fans booed him during their weekend Ligue 1 loss to Lyon.
According to L’Equipe’s front page on Tuesday, the situation has already reached a conclusion, with Messi and PSG ready to part ways in a “divorce.”
The headlines are clear that Messi and PSG should not be linked again next season, with the veteran forward set to leave next month.
