Manchester United is ‘prepared to compete with Liverpool and Real Madrid for Bellingham

Manchester United are’set to enter the competition to recruit Jude Bellingham,’ with a sum of ‘at least £110 million’ likely.

With impressive performances for Borussia Dortmund and England in the last year, the 19-year-old has emerged as one of the world’s most highly regarded young players.

If Liverpool qualify for the Champions League next season, they believe they will have a decent chance of signing Bellingham, while Real Madrid have made contact with the young midfielder. Chelsea and Manchester City are also thought to be interested.

Another candidate has now emerged, with the Telegraph stating that United are ‘genuinely interested’ in the England player.

They further report that, while Dortmund hopes to maintain their star player, they have set a ‘£110m’ minimum cost for him.

A decision is likely in the coming weeks, with a source telling the Telegraph that “all is open” about the starlet’s future.

If Bellingham does return to England, he would almost certainly surpass the British transfer record set by Enzo Fernandez’s £107 million move to Chelsea in January.

If he joins Real Madrid, the midfielder would help to secure the future of a club that has dominated European football for much of the last decade.

Aurelien Tchouameni and Eduardo Camavinga are two of Europe’s most promising young midfielders, and Bellingham might bring in another to replace the aging, but still outstanding, Luka Modric.

Liverpool’s prospects of bringing in the midfielder will most likely be determined by their league finish.

After losing to Bournemouth at the weekend, they are now six points off the top Champions League spots, which they will very certainly need to finish in order to sign Bellingham.

With games against Manchester City, Chelsea, and Arsenal left in their final 12 matchups, it may be a difficult task.

United appear to be in a better position to finish in the top four, though this is far from definite, and they may struggle to devote enough of their transfer resources to pursue the midfielder.

Erik ten Hag has been looking for a long-term striker since the departure of Cristiano Ronaldo, and he may prioritize bringing in a forward like highly-rated Napoli forward Victor Osimhen, who has been associated with the club for some time.
