In the first leg of the round of 8 Champions League match, Real Madrid defeated Chelsea 2-0. The Blues finished the game with ten players who were dismissed immediately after England defender Ben Chilwell.
Karim Benzema and Marco Asensio each scored twice as Real Madrid defeated Stamford Bridge on Tuesday.
The game, which was controlled by Real Madrid, got off to a good start with Chelsea creating numerous opportunities in the first ten minutes. However, after that, the ball switched into Real Madrid’s hands, and their numerous chances were all stopped by the absence of goalkeeper Kepa Arrizabalga. There would be no issue for the Blues.
Real Madrid took the lead in the game in the 21st minute after Karim Benzema redirected Kepa’s ball, which had been initially intercepted by Vinicius Junior.
RECORD: Karim Benzema became the second player in Champions League history to score the most goals against English teams. The French star scored his 20th goal against an English team, matching Lionel Messi’s total of 27 goals against English teams.

Dani Carvajal passed the ball from midfield to Vinicius, who ran ahead of the Chelsea defense before Kepa made the save.
In the first half, both teams had chances, but Real Madrid should have scored with Federico Valverde and Karim Benzema getting another good chance, while Rodrygo, Alaba, and Vinicius were unlucky.
When they returned to the second half, Real Madrid continued to put pressure on Chelsea’s defense, and Camavinga squandered a good chance when Vinicius sent the ball to the penalty area and it went over the crossbar.
Chilwell
Chelsea were reduced to ten players in the 59th minute when Ben Chilwell was sent off for catching Rodrygo Goes, who passed the ball to the defense and went to the goal, but Chilwell caught him and threw him to the ground before entering the penalty area.
Marco Asensio came off the bench to score his team’s second goal. He received a ball from Vinicius Junior and shot from outside the goal, while the ball went on the ground and into the net after only four minutes on the field.
Karim Benzema and Kai Havertz squandered good chances in the final minutes of the game, and the two teams were defeated 2-0 by Real Madrid.
The second leg between Chelsea and Real Madrid will take place at Stamford Bridge on Tuesday, and the Blues have a lot of work to do to change the two goals and win, while Real Madrid is free to keep their goal and win.
AC Milan, on the other hand, defeated Napoli 1-0 in the first leg of the Champions League round of eight at the San Siro Stadium, thanks to a first-half goal by Ismail Bennacer.
Napoli have been missing Nigerian star Osimhem, who has been out injured for the last few weeks, but Napoli hope he will return for the second leg next week at the Diego Maradona Stadium.
