Sportiva Salernitana 1-1 Napoli: Napoli FAILS to win the title at home in this round

Napoli were held to a 1-1 draw by Salernitana in Serie A on Sunday, delaying their hopes of winning the league title for the first time in 33 years.
The home side took the lead just after the hour mark, when Mathias Olivera scored with a header from a corner kick.
However, Salernitana equalized late in the game through Boulaye Dia, who found the net with a strike at the far post.
The result means that Napoli are still on top of the Serie A table, but their lead has been cut to 18 points over second-placed Lazio. With six games remaining, Luciano Spalletti’s side will have another chance to clinch the Scudetto when they face Udinese on Thursday.
Napoli dominated the game, creating several chances, but failed to convert them into goals. The home side had a total of 28 shots, with only six on target, while Salernitana managed just three shots on goal. Goalkeeper Guillermo Ochoa was the hero for the visitors, making several saves to deny Napoli.
The Naples-based club will be hoping to end their long wait for a league title, with Argentine legend Diego Maradona having inspired their last triumph in 1990. Napoli’s fans will be hoping that the team can hold their nerve and secure the title in the coming weeks.
