Xavi: If they mention VAR today, it’s a joke

Xavi Hernandez was overjoyed with the victory over Real Madrid, which puts FC Barcelona on the verge of winning the league title for the third time in three seasons. The Terrassa native emphasized that Barcelona was superior than Real Madrid: “It’s a significant and well-deserved victory. We earned this outcome, which reflected the nature of the game, because we outclassed Real Madrid. We dominated, had more opportunities, and outperformed them. It’s a victory that boosts our morale and boosts our confidence.”

The Blaugrana coach thanked his players on a fine game: “I’m overjoyed because everyone is working so hard. There is little mention that we are having an exceptional league season, and I am extremely glad for my players since they are subjected to a lot of criticism. We gave it our best against a talented squad that had been showing off its might in the past few games. Real Madrid is a difficult team to play against, but we knew how to mature the game. We hadn’t beaten Real Madrid at home in five years, and we let up an unjust goal, but we were able to respond.”

Xavi remembered: “We must not lose sight of our origins. We were 15 points behind Real Madrid last year and are now 12 points behind them this year. It’s time to assess the situation.”
In this regard, he was taken aback by Carlo Ancelotti’s reservations about the VAR’s decision: “I’m shocked Ancelotti has reservations about the disallowed goal, because it’s a scientific issue. There is no question that that is offside. It’s a joke that people are talking about the VAR today. The offside is obvious.”

Xavi acknowledged that his first Clasico as a coach at Camp Nou was an intense experience: “I’m under more pressure than I was as a player, and the atmosphere and the way the game finished gave me chills at times. It was the ideal script “.
The Terrassa native also acknowledged the supporters, emphasizing the bond that has been formed with the team: “I remembered the game against Munich, when the fans supported us on until the final whistle despite the 0-3 result. They earned this triumph, and it gave me goosebumps. This team chemistry is great.”

“We don’t feel like champions, but it’s a really significant step,” Xavi said of the championship. He did, however, praise his team’s strong performance in domestic competition: “We’ve scored a lot of points. In reality, we’ve only lost 10 games in the league, and this isn’t by luck. We are being extremely strong in defence and on top of that tonight we have been quite excellent in attack”.
“I had questions until the final second between one and the other,” the Blaugrana coach said of the night’s two “heroes,” Sergi Roberto and Franck Kessie.

Those were the two alternatives, and both turned out wonderfully. They both scored and were victorious. I’m at a loss for words when it comes to Sergi. We don’t appreciate him, but that’s the terrible reality of our club. He has always been an example, and it is an honor to coach him.”
